Our cleaning process begins by identifying the type of rug we are cleaning. There are many different types of rugs, some of these being

  • Oriental rugs
  • Domestic Carpets
  • Braided Rugs
  • Hooked Rugs
The cleaning process for these different types of rugs are the same, with a few varying points. The cleaning of an oriental rug starts by determining whether or not the rug is handmade. Handmade rugs can be very valuable, and therefore, we take extreme care to ensure the rug is not damaged in any way. You can identify an oriental rug by noting: *if the rug has fringe, the fringe is an actual part of the rug. On many new machine made oriental rugs, fringe is sewn on. *whether or not the rug is made of wool, silk, or synthetic matieral. Next, we measure the rug, to determine the sq footage of the rug. Then the rug is vaccumed, and then dusted using a rug beater.dust under rug Once the rug has been beat (dusted), the rug goes into the next phase of cleaning: spotting. Using special rug cleaning chemicals, spots or stains are removed by hand if possible. Certain substances, such as dog/cat urine, etc, permanaately stain or bleach the rug. Following the spotting, the rug is then shampooed, brushed, and then the process is completed by rinsing the rug. The rug is then brushed or combed, and hung to dry. rugs hangingThe drying process takes up to 4-5 days. When the rug is dry, it is re vaccumed, rolled up, and put away for pickup by the customer or delivery to the customer's home. Besides the cleaning of carpet, we also do expert repair work, most of which is done by hand. We also re fringe, and provide new padding for the rug, along with many other misc. services.
